7 rules for effective thermal insulation
7 simple but very important rules every homeowner must know. The customer must at least know a little about the technology of insulation, so as not to fall for the “hacks”.
1.Before gluing the insulation, the wall must always be treated with a primer in order to increase the strength of adhesion of the material to the wall. Priming the surface strengthens its base and reduces moisture absorption.
2.The plastic mount must be the correct size according to the type of insulation, its thickness and the material of the supporting wall.
3.It is better to glue the seams between the insulation plates with foam to impart a solid structure that works as a single layer.
4.When the insulation is protected by a glass mesh, the insulation is first spread on the insulation, and then the mesh is pressed into it. Very often, “hackers” simply “wring” the protective mesh on top of the insulation, which can lead to exfoliation of the protective layer, then to the destruction of the insulation and complete unsuitability of the system. At this stage, is spent twice as much time, if you comply with the technology, especially for work at height.
5.It is better to reinforce the corners of the walls and slopes with aluminum corners with a glass mesh. This is very important for first floors, as well as for apartments that are at high altitude.
6.Above the insulation must necessarily put a low tide, as water can flow from above, penetrate under it and slowly destroy the layer in the autumn. In addition to the ebb itself, it is necessary to lubricate the joint of the ebb and the wall with silicone or some other method of waterproofing.
7.We strongly recommend to warm slopes. Do not just align them and paint, and stick 2 cm of foam or extruded polystyrene foam and equip a protective layer. This will avoid freezing the internal joints of windows and walls. Notice that most of the heat goes through the windows and the gaps between the window frame and the walls.
